The purpose of this database is to give information about food producers, farmers and food processors (e.g. local bakers if they have a policy of sourcing local ingredients, where possible, in the local region.) Consumers can read it and know where to buy food that is low in food miles and high in quality. We have made it on-line for ease of updating. Paper copies can be obtained at cost.

We have defined local in our case as a 35 mile radius of Hebden Bridge, but in the first instance, we would encourage people to source as local as possible.
